Healthcare Data Analyst

The HealthcareData Analyst is responsible for customer-focused reporting and analytical support to the leadership in the Penn State Health System. Support the day-to-day activities required in all areas of planning and business development relative to developing, directing, and communicating new or expanded clinical and business opportunities. Facilitates the development and maintenance of data collection, analysis, and reporting of internal data and external market and environmental data to assist leadership in making sound business decisions. The HealthcareData Analyst also promotes data integrity through using and developing standards based measures. This position is within the department of Program Planning, Management Reporting and Facilities Improvement of the Penn State Health Academic Medical Group. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, and/or Healthcare Management required. Three (3) years of experience in Strategic Planning, Reporting, or Data Analysis required. Analytical experience required. Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, graphing, macros and VBA scripting) required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Strong communication skills, analytical skills and understanding of the academic health environment required. Strong Microsoft Suite tools experience (especially Excel and Access) required. Knowledge of relational databases and querying techniques (e.g. SQL). Practical knowledge of planning and business development and analysis techniques required. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure required. Excellent computer, organization, and project management skills. Capacity to quickly adapt to changes in both technology and business environments. Ability to troubleshoot technical and functional problems. Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Ability to produce clear, written operational instructions and supporting documentation. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
