Hershey, PA Hershey, PA Full-time Full-time $78,714 - $105,083 a year $78,714 - $105,083 a year Finance and Operations Director CHS Central Office - Hershey, PA Full-Time The Finance and Operations Director is responsible to ensure accurate reporting of financial data, including operating expenses and capital expenditures.
This position works collaboratively with the Executive Director and other Department Directors on annual budget development.
The Finance and Operations Director will develop and maintain ad hoc and recurring financial analyses to ensure good stewardship.
This role will be responsible for managing the operations and interactions across the CHS Central Office and with the CHS Centers in the areas of risk and safety, facilities, and IT.
They will oversee administrative functions, leading and maintaining team accountability, ensuring compliance and quality, and developing and ensuring policies and procedures related to these functions for the CHS Central Office in conjunction with the CHS Centers.
Starting salary is in the range of $78,714 - $105,083 a year, based on expertise.
Responsibilities Finance Internal Controls and Business Process Improvement Work with Management to define and document appropriate internal control procedures Develop and execute a plan to periodically review and report on the effectiveness of controls Lead the efforts to document CHS-wide business processes and review for opportunities to implement efficiency improvements Budgeting Assist in the development of the annual operating and capital budget requests, for approval by CHS Leadership and Board Lead the implementation and on-going annual process of zero-based budgeting with CHS management Oversee on-going actual vs budget capital expenditure analysis Financial Analysis, Reporting & Audit Lead the monthly and year-end Financial Close and Reporting activities, including distribution of financial reporting packages to CHS Leadership and Board Stay up to date on new accounting or other regulatory standards via self- directed learning.
Lead implementation of new standards, as necessary.
Liaison with Shared Services and External Auditors to ensure compliance with GMP Lead the preparation of financial reports (tax filings, census data, surveys, etc.
), and review the preparation of materials for the year-end Financial Statements Lead and/or assist with the creation and maintenance of ad-hoc and on- going financial and non-financial data analyses for use by CHS Leadership and Board When practical, prioritize the utilization of ERP platforms to store the analyses Risk, Safety and Security Management Develop and maintain CHS Central Office and CHS Centers' policies and procedures, identifying potential risks and addressing them accordingly Conduct internal audits and reviews at regular intervals to ensure that compliance procedures are regularly followed Design, implement and lead a risk and safety management strategy for the organization Facilities Make regular visits to all CHS Centers to ensure alignment and maintenance of expectations, accountability, and best practices within administration, facilities, and across all centers In collaboration with the Sr.
Director of Programs and other CHS Center Staff ensure compliance of operational requirements and standards of OCDEL, and NAEYC Information Technology Direct operations in executing CHS's technology policies and strategic plan In collaboration with IT Manager analyze organizational needs and recommend technical solutions and develop and maintain IT systems Maintain and enforce procedures around technology and telecommunication Liaison between CHS, MHS, and outside IT consultants in the areas of systems design, modifications or trouble shooting Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Information Systems, or Business Administration required 8 years of leadership experience in Finance and Operations required 2
years of experience working in the early childhood space, or education environment a plus Experience working in a non-profit organization is a plus Advanced data analysis skills Advanced functional knowledge of integrated ERP systems Exceptional executive functioning, organizational, and time management skills, and an action-oriented mindset Experience operating multiple entities and ensuring collaboration across large, decentralized teams, including shared services (preferred) Previous experience in new venture or similar entrepreneurial, high-growth setting (preferred) Exceptional people skills including the ability to influence, lead, educate large teams Commitment to the mission and values of CHS and MHS and demonstrated high degree of integrity as all MHS and CHS staff are considered to be role models for children Ability to work effectively with all levels of management, must have effective communication and organizational skills and an understanding of new management techniques and objectives Ability to proactively identify problems and implement solutions Ability to work well across silos and departments to forge strong cross-disciplinary relationships Ability to forge strong business relationships with external vendors at the community at large Commitment to the mission and values of CHS and MHS and demonstrated high degree of integrity as all MHS and CHS staff are considered to be role models for students U.
