The Employment Specialist builds relationships with clients to assess their employable skill sets, interests, and preferences, and guide them through the interview process.
Once individuals have secured employment, Employment Specialists support them at work, acting as a job coach to ensure their success.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Build strong relationships with individuals and their support systems across a small caseload size Conduct employment trials assisting individuals with identifying their career preferences Assist individuals with marketing their skills and talents to gain competitively integrated employment Foster relationships with hiring managers and supervisors to advocate for the successful employment outcomes for individuals with developmental disabilities Collaborate closely with behavior consultants trained in the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to develop and implement employment plans Teach integral skills that increase success related to meeting employment goals and building healthy coworker relationships Partner with Vista's career developers to identify progressive and best matching work environments for individuals on shared caseloads Facilitate relationship building for individuals with their supervisor and coworkers Become an expert in Customized Employment through training offered by the National Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE) Enhance direct support professional skill sets through the opportunity to participate in Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification EXPECTED SCHEDULE This is a full time 40 hour per week position, unless otherwise approved.
Days and hours of the workweek are agreed upon by management, the assigned customer's schedules, and the Adult Services calendar.
There is a possibility of working evenings, weekends, varying shifts, or holidays.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Minimum High School diploma required 1-3 years of experience working with the autism population required Earning of the Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE) certificate or becoming a Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) within 9 months of hire required, supported by Vista if not already certified Clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in a 3-year span), valid PA driver's license, current vehicle inspection, up-to-date vehicle registration, and proof of adequate insurance coverage required Successful completion of Safe and Positive Approaches Training required, provided by Vista during induction Successful completion of Community Participation Support Training required within 60 days of hire required, provided by Vista during induction Required passing of all pre-employment regulatory and safety-sensitive employee requirements including, but not limited to, PPD testing, physical exam, and drug tests SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Bachelor's degree in related service field highly desired Association of Community Rehabilitation (ACRE) certification or Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) certification highly desired Certified Employment Specialist Provider highly desired Connections to local businesses preferred Demonstrates organizational skills Effectively manages multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
